THE MAGDALENE CHRONICLES is a series. It begins with The Followers of the Magdalene. In this first book of a series, the reader encounters not only the main character of Maddy Whitaker but the main character of the sub plot: Mary Magdalene. The story is written in the first person and the reader is able to completely immerse himself in the story and feel as if he is the person on this momentous journey in discovery of the hidden life of one of the most influential persons in the history of Christianity. Alternative views of the lives of those involved in the creation of the religion we now call Christianity are presented in this series with emphasis on Mary Magdalene and her life after the time of the Biblical Crucifixion. Is this series based on the Bible? Some of it is and some of it is based on other writings as well as legends from families like mine. |
| Book Two of the Magdalene Chronicles is entitled FAR MEMORY: ON THE TRAIL OF THE GRAIL and takes our characters from the United States where they have been hiding and doing research to an old monastery near the Temple Mount in Jerusalem where they wait for assistance from the intrepid Ziv. They travel to the caves of the Dead Sea Scrolls in Qumran and discover a great surprise. They then journey to Britian to meet with a man whose family possesses a journal quite like Maddie's grandmother's. We understand the symbolism of the number 3 in this story as we learn about the three most important people in the formation of Christianity. Book Two is very interesting and detailed and more information regarding these families and their ties to the Holy Grail is revealed. The search for the Grail continues as they follow the new clues uncovered on their quest. |

Christian authors have attempted to tell the life of Jesus of Nazareth based on the texts found in the Bible. What has been overlooked is that the Bible, as we know it, was edited by people just like you and me. Politics and power played a huge part in the choice of the writings that were included to be read to and by the common person.
